Design Thinking Pioneers

Companies involved in student projects in the early years of the Hasso Plattner Institute quickly discovered the thrill of the topics taught and researched here. Very soon, they not only wanted to accompany student projects at the HPI School of Design Thinking, but also sought to drive innovation processes in their own companies. This led to the founding of the Hasso-Plattner-Institut Academy (HPI Academy) on March 20, 2009.

The history of the HPI Academy is a story of innovation. The HPI Academy was the site for the first Design Thinking  for professionals in Germany. Today, the product portfolio includes a wide variety of workshops and consulting formats, all of which were designed and developed at the HPI Academy. In addition to Design Thinking formats, we focus on topics such as leadership, change management, entrepreneurship, and digitalization.

Each year, around 3,000 professionals come to workshops at the HPI Academy to continue their education and be inspired by the unique atmosphere on campus.

In addition, HPI Academy program managers support a wide range of companies and organizations at their locations. The offerings range from individually tailored workshops to project support to the implementation of Design Thinking in the company.
