HPI Academy Launches New Networking Event Series "Innovation Excellence Talks”

Unicorn startup founder Dr. Gero Decker the first speaker of the new event series

The HPI Academy initiated a new event series on November 8, 2021 with a keynote address by Dr. Gero Decker, founder of Signavio, on the topic “Building a Unicorn – Business Innovation & Entrepreneurship.”

Dr. Decker is co-founder and CEO of the HPI alumni startup Signavio, which was founded in 2009 and acquired by SAP for about one billion euros in early 2021. In his presentation, Decker, who as co-founder is responsible for the overall strategic direction of Signavio, gave the selected guests insights into the genesis of Signavio and how the company managed to become one of the most successful startups in Germany. In the future, he will establish and lead a new unit for business process intelligence within SAP with Signavio.

With the “Innovation Excellence Talks,” the HPI Academy will in future invite Germany’s most important innovation and digitization experts to Potsdam twice a year together with the Hasso Plattner Foundation. The keynote speakers will provide an exclusive audience with insights into the latest trends and developments in science, business, and the startup scene.

Afterwards, the speakers will answer questions from the audience. The evening will end with a get-together, which will offer the best opportunities for networking.

The aim of the new event series is to network the most important driving forces from the future fields of business and technology with partners and alumni of the HPI Academy, the Hasso Plattner Institute, and the Hasso Plattner Foundation.
