Design Thinking Coach

Module 1: DT Mindset & Process (3 Days, on site)
This module aims to go deeper into the individual process phases and to expand the participants’ repertoire of methods. Through a varied examination of different Design Thinking methods and tools, the coaches to be trained gain flexibility and ease in (re)acting variably with regard to different Goals.

Module 4: Coaching Practice Basic (3 Days, on site)
Here, participants are given the opportunity to independently conduct a Design Thinking introductory workshop and coach a team themselves. Here, trainee coaches jointly design a design thinking experience for participants from different contexts. The workshops are held in cooperation with NGOs, NPOs and higher educational institutions from different parts of Germany and occasionally also Europe. The coaches in training receive individual feedback on their coaching from experienced HPI Academy coaches.

Module 5: Masterclass (1 Day, online)
The masterclasses are individual, one-day workshops with different thematic focuses. By tying in with design thinking and other approaches, they invite you to broaden your own horizons and delve deeper into a particular topic. The topics of these workshops range from methodological exploration (e.g., nonverbal communication or team dynamics) to specific applications of design thinking to new innovative formats such as yoga thinking or improvisational theater. Masterclasses are usually done online and can be attended after the completion of the program, subject to availability.

Module 6: Designing Workshops and Projects (3 Days, on site)
This workshop aims to place the activity of team coaching in the larger context of a company or organization. The focus is on the preparation and follow-up as well as the contextualization of different Design Thinking formats, which are examined in more detail at the beginning. Based on selected challenges brought in by the participants themselves, teams then work out concrete proposals on how these can be tackled in a targeted and context-specific manner using design thinking.

Module 7: Coaching Practice – Advanced (4 Day, 1 Day online / 3 Days on site)
Here, participants receive the most comprehensive practical experience to date: from the coordination meeting with the client to the conception of a suitable Design Thinking format to the implementation of the planned two-day workshop. The workshops are held in cooperation with NGOs, NPOs and higher educational institutions from different parts of Germany and occasionally also Europe. The coaches in training receive individual feedback on their coaching from experienced HPI coaches.

Module 8: Peer consulting (1 Day, online)
At the end of the program, you will benefit from peer-to-peer exchange: bring your own project or a specific question and receive valuable input from other coaches. At the same time, your advisory skills as a coach are also required when you give your colleagues feedback on their issues. The coordination and scheduling are done by arrangement, the module takes place online.
