Introduction to Design Thinking

HPI Academy’s Introduction to Design Thinking workshop is one of the most established Design Thinking learning formats in the world. Hundreds of professionals from all industries have discovered Design Thinking for themselves and their organization in recent years in these highly sought-after courses. In keeping with the spirit of Design Thinking, the program is constantly evolving.

  • Through the combination of short lectures, practical exercises as well as problem-oriented teamwork, you will acquire this agile method in a sustainable way.

The workshops are designed for teams of professionals and executives from all industries, who are expected to solve complex problems on a regular basis and who want to experience a first introduction to Design Thinking.

This hands-on workshop extends over two to three days. After a short introduction to the mindsets and practices of Design Thinking the main part of the course begins: irevolves around a real project. Please feel free to bring your own project or challenge! In multidisciplinary teams, participants design solutions for this real-life challenge by entering into and engaging with each phase of the Design Thinking process. Short introductions to methods and tools alternate with practical experience and subsequent reflection.

1. Tag

Am ersten Tag erhalten die Teilnehmenden im Rahmen verschiedener Vorträge und Übungen eine intensive Einführung in die Methoden und Arbeitsweisen des Design Thinking. Insbesondere erleben sie, wie sich in kürzester Zeit Ergebnisse erreichen lassen. Der besondere Fokus des Tages liegt auf dem sogenannten Problemraum, in dem die Herausforderung aus Nutzersicht neu definiert wird, um neue Sichtachsen zu legen und innovative Lösungsperspektiven zu eröffnen. 

Start: 9:00 Uhr, Ende: 17:00 Uhr 

2. Tag

Der Fokus des zweiten Tages liegt auf dem Lösungsraum, also auf den Phasen der Ideenfindung, des Prototypings, des Testens sowie der Iteration. Zu den unterschiedlichen Phasen des Design-Thinking-Prozesses lernen die Teilnehmenden verschiedene Methoden kennen, die im Team angewendet werden. Die Methodenreflexion und die Reflexion der Kollaboration dienen dazu, das Erlebte und Erlernte sinnvoll in die Praxis zu überführen. Welche Methode eignet sich für welchen Prozessschritt? Wie unterscheiden sich die Tools, wo gibt es Gemeinsamkeiten? Wie lief die Zusammenarbeit in einem diversen Team?

Follow-Up:

Ein an den Workshop anschließender Follow-Up-Termin (90 Minuten, online), bietet TeilnehmerInnen die Möglichkeit, sich einen Monat nach dem Workshop noch einmal untereinander und mit einem Coach der HPI Academy auszutauschen.
