What at first glance appears to be a classic IT topic is actually a cultural topic at its core, which ought to already be ensuring a way of rethinking classic organizational structures in companies of all sizes as part of the digital transformation. In actuality, only a few companies have so far devoted themselves to the topic of low-code/no-code and its possibilities, or are already working with platforms and tools in this area. When used correctly, low-code is as an accelerator for digital innovations. If, over the course of agile projects, application development migrates to specialist areas thanks to simple development environments, and so-called citizen developers build simple applications, core IT can concentrate on system-relevant processes and structures.
Masterclass
The Future of Software Development
Low-Code and No-Code
Low-code/no-code platforms reduce software development time from months to days. Applications can be quickly adapted to the constantly changing processes. The low-code/no-code movement thus not only takes a great load off IT departments, but, if used correctly, can also become a catalyst for digital innovations.
Goals
- The participants will learn how to rearrange low-code organizational structures and what technical possibilities already exist today.
- The lecturers will give an overview of which platforms and providers are available and where the differences lie.
- The participants will learn and develop concrete applications in real time on a low-code/no-code platform based on a fictitious company. The logic of what has been learned can be applied to both B2C and B2B markets and applies to start-ups as well as established companies.
- Following the masterclass, participants will have eight weeks of access to the platform and will be able to create further applications for their company.

Content
The two-day masterclass is interactive and application-oriented. On the first day, there will be a deep dive into the topic with different focus sessions that will provide an understanding of where the origin of low-code/no-code lies and why two-speed IT will gain in importance in an increasingly agile world of innovation. In facilitated discussions, the interaction between pro-code and low-code/no-code will be discussed, and the participants will become familiar with the basics for their future activities as citizen developers in their companies.
The goal is to be able to make first independent attempts at getting going live on a low-code platform at the end of the first day.
The second day is devoted exclusively to practice. Supported by experts, the participants will apply what they have learned on the basis of various use cases in a fictitious company that will be defined together beforehand. Together, they will build one of three applications in a team, which they will then present to the group. The participants will thereby benefit from the different approaches of the other teams. Finally, we will discuss how this all translates into the participants’ own work context.
