An Introduction to Design Thinking for Companies

The participants will experience a structured and professionally moderated Design Thinking workshop at the Hasso Plattner Institute or at your location. They will experience and apply the phases of process and the associated methods in the workshop in clearly defined time windows. As a didactic approach, the workshop is based on the principle of action orientation. The work is divided into a varied pattern of common discussions, moderated teamwork, and reflection.

Overview of the workshop days

For the best learning experience, we recommend a three-day workshop.

First workshop day:On the first day, the participants will receive an intensive introduction to the process and mindset in the form of various lectures and exercises and experience how results can be achieved in the shortest possible time. The special focus of the day is on the Design Thinking phases of understanding, observing, and defining one's perspective.
Second workshop day:The focus of the second day will be on the phases of synthesis, prototyping, testing, and iteration. At the different stages of the Design Thinking process, participants will learn about different methods that are applied in the team. Each team of 5 to 6 people will be joined by an experienced Design Thinking coach.

Third workshop day:

The third day of workshop is the Reflection of methods and collaboration. Which method is suitable for which process step? How do the tools differ and what do they have in common? How did working together as part of a diverse team go? This is followed by a discussion about transferring Design Thinking to the corporate context.

Next steps and transfer to one's everyday work are defined.
